HISTORY

The State Food Safety Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia was established by Government Decision No. 1730 of December 30, 2010. 2018 On April 9, the State Food Safety Service was reorganized and renamed the Food Safety Inspection Body under the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
On December 19, 2019, by Prime Minister's Decision No. 1940-L of December 19, Food Safety Inspection Body under the Government of the Republic of Armenia was renamed the RA Food Safety Inspection Body.
The Food Safety Inspection Body ensures food safety through the application of food and feed safety, veterinary and phytosanitary responsibilities.
Head of the State Food Safety Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia were Grigor Grigoryan (06.04.2011-07.12.2011), Abram Bakhchagulyan (13.07.2011-06.10.2014), Armen Hayrapetyan (06.10.2014). -11.09.2016), Ishkhan Karapetian (10.11.2016-29.05.2018).
On June 21, 2018 George Avetisyan was appointed as the Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body under the Government of the Republic of Armenia. By Prime Minister's Decision No. 1084-A of September 24, 2020, Georgy Avetisyan was dismissed from the position of the Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body under the RA Government.
By Prime Minister's Decision No. 1138-A of October 8, 2020, Georgy Avetisyan was appointed head of the RA Food Safety Inspection Body.
By Prime Minister's Decision No. 133-A of february 7, 2023, Armen Hayrapetyan was appointed head of the RA Food Safety Inspection Body.
