Phytosanitary Department
The main tasks of the Phytosanitary Department are:
detection of quarantine plant pests on the territory of the Republic of Armenia;
ensuring the processes of import, export, storage, transportation, sale, use of pesticides and agrochemicals in accordance with the provisions established by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia;
detection and prevention of violations of requirements defined by legal acts regulating phytosanitary field.
The main functions of the Phytosanitary Department are:
1) organization and participation in the implementation of state control over the processes of import, export, storage, transportation, sale of pesticides and agrochemicals, as well as coordination and management of the work;
2) organization and coordination of phytosanitary monitoring activities carried out in order to detect quarantine organisms and prevent their further spread on the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
3) organization and coordination of activities aimed at banning the sale of unregistered, expired, substandard and banned pesticides in the Republic of Armenia.
4) summarizing the work of the regional centers of the inspection body, highlighting problems and presenting recommendations for their solution.
