1) Participation in the organization and implementation of state control over prevention and control of infectious and non-communicable diseases of animals in the Republic of Armenia, veterinary activities, registration and numbering of agricultural animals, artificial insemination, bonification, genealogical work, production of breeding material, slaughter of animals, control of the processes of organization and conduct of seromonitoring and analysis of results.

2) Organization and participation in the implementation of measures to prevent the penetration of infectious animal diseases from foreign countries into the territory of the Republic of Armenia, ensuring cooperation with state and other interested bodies.

3) In case of detection of widespread infectious diseases of animals and humans, inform the inspection body authorized by the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the field of ensuring sanitary-epidemiological safety of the population of the Republic of Armenia, as well as organization and implementation of joint measures.

4) Organization and participation in the control of products subject to veterinary control, as well as the processes of destruction or disposal of animal carcasses.

5) Entering information on notifiable infectious animal diseases into a database, summarizing and notifying the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) in accordance with the established procedure.
