This morning, the inspectors of the Gegharkunik Regional Center for Food Safety of the Republic of Armenia toured the largest livestock market in the country in the Martuni region. The purpose of the visit was to check whether the livestock traders meet the requirements and conditions that must be met to transport the animals to the livestock market.
The tour was followed by the head of the Inspection body Georgi Avetisyan and his deputy Arthur Shatvoryan.
Particular attention was paid to excluding the entry of livestock animals from the villages of Vanjan-Torfavan in Gegharkunik region, where anthrax was recently found in animals.
No sick animals were found during the tour. Nevertheless, the market will remain under the strict control of SATM.
