Armen Danielyan, Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, welcomed Ivana Dulich, the former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia, the current policy officer of the “Irrigated Agriculture Development in Ararat and Armavir Regions” (IADAAM) project funded by the European Union (EU) and the French Development Agency (FDA). program expert, and Ruben Sarukhanyan, national policy expert of the same program.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the control functions (observation, inspection, monitoring) carried out by the Inspection Body in the field of food safety, the existence of risk assessment and management centers in the country and their involvement in the control processes, the problems of implementing the HACCP system at business entities, The process of registration of organizations in the EAEU third-country registry and digital solutions, national and private laboratories, animal numbering and registration, food import and export, pesticide registration, employee training and other issues. During the meeting, they also discussed the possibilities of further cooperation and support.

Reference: The "Development of Irrigated Agriculture in Ararat and Armavir Regions" (IADAAM) project, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the French Development Agency (FDFA), is a comprehensive initiative aimed at transforming irrigated agriculture in Armenia. The meeting was organized within the framework of the overall task of enhancing the capacity to develop targeted, evidence-based agricultural policies and reforms.
