ENSURING FOOD SAFETY STANDARDS IN PRESCHOOLS IS A PRIORITY

At the suggestion of the association for the support of private preschool institutions, the Food Safety Inspection Body organized a seminar for the association's member-organizations, which was attended by 45 directors of preschool educational institutions.
In his welcoming speech the Head of the Inspection Body Armen Danielyan noted the necessity of strictly observing the standards of quality and safety of the food provided to children in kindergartens and child development centres and informed that the object of control in 2025 will be, in particular, the food served in school and pre-school institutions, sanitary condition of kitchens and canteens.
The seminar speaker, Head of the Food Safety Department Gohar Vardanyan, presented to the participants in detail the main functions of the Inspection Body, legislative requirements related to the industry, control tools, procedures and mandatory documents to be provided upon the inspector's request. She also stressed the necessity of implementing the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system, which is necessary for safe and efficient catering organisation, as well as following the instructions aimed at preventing cross-contamination of food products.
The attendees expressed their satisfaction with the meeting and noted that although they keep abreast of developments in the field, such meetings give them the opportunity to get answers to their concerns and act more confidently.
