The main functions of the division are:

1) facilitate the realization of the functions of the inspection body within its competence;
2) Coordination and organization of the work of the state border control units of the inspection body.

3) Coordination and control of control activities by border control units.
4) evaluation of the work of state border control units based on standards and performance indicators;
5) development of specific actions based on the performance assessment analysis and their submission to the state border control authorities;

6) development of strategic plans, concepts, draft regulatory legal acts in the field of food safety within its competence;

7) introduction of a "One Window" service delivery system in the process of state border control;
8) creation and maintenance of electronic applications on the basis of accompanying documents at import, export, transit of foodstuff, materials in direct contact with foodstuff, products of veterinary and phytosanitary control;

9) ensures fulfillment of methodical works of border control;
10) ensures performance of works on generalization and analysis of the results of monitoring activities of the inspection body on border control, identification of problems and gaps;

11) Exercises other powers assigned to it by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, as well as by the inspection body and this Statute.
